Jan. 1 Ruby stayed till after dinner. Maggie and her took her shoes to the shoe shop to be half soled. after dinner they went back and got them, and Ruby went home. Jeff was here for dinner and supper I went over to the store a little while after dinner. George and Jeff played for the Masquerade dance in Jerry Heckathorn's hall. At night Maggie and I went over to Cora Officers to take care of her and Bessie's and Mrs. Royal Brown's babies while they all went to the dance. they never got home untill half past 3 oclock. then Maggie and I came home and went to bed. to day was a lovely day the sun shone nice and warm
Jan. 2 I got up at half past 6. George got home at 7 I got breakfast and then sent over for Jeff and I called Maggie. after breakfast George went to bed slept till noon. Maggie went to school After dinner I went to the store got some outing to make mother a gown. came home cut it out Bell came over brought Maggies sailor collar home stayed 1 hour. the weather was not quite so nice to day. it was a little cloudy
Jan. 3 Maggie worked in her books all day. I sewed. Emma Rader came in a little while. the weather was fine. the sun shone all day 1 hen layed an egg in the wood shed.
Jan. 4 Sunday. a nice day. After dinner Maggie went down to Emma Walshes. George and I went up to John Daleys and got 1 gallon vinegar.
Jan. 5 I washed at home for myself. It was very foggy all day.
Jan. 6 When I had just got my work all done up and got settled to pick wool and George helping me.
Henry came over to see if I would not go over to Grandma D. and her for she was feeling so very bad that morning so I went over, and got dinner for them and done the work all up and came home Word came to Eagle Point that Lizzie Gearys baby was dead and would be buried in the Mathews Cemetry on the hill I went down to Scott P at night and got a hogs liver that Scott had got at Grovers for me.
Jan. 7 We got up real early this morning. so I could do up my work, and Mrs. Daleys too. and go to the funeral. George myself and Bell Daley went we walked up through the field. We all put on rubber boots. We got back at 1 P.M. I stopped and got dinner for Mrs. Daley and done up the work again and then she was feeling so much better, I came home. for George had come on home, and ate a cold dinner. It was dredful foggy but in the afternoon the fog raised and it was a lovely afternoon. At night George got a set of backbones and ribs from Jay Grover $.50.
Jan. 8 It rained a little this morning before day light but after that the sun came out nice In the afternoon. Lulu came up. spent the afternoon. I put a new lining in Georges coat.
Jan. 9 I picked woo and done some darning. In the afternoon Dollie and Olie Nichols came here to get Dollies History. Maggie went home with Dollie to stay until Sunday morning I went over to Peacheys to see them. for Maud, Lee and Nellie are nearly sick with bad colds, nothing serious.
Jan. 10 I worked at home all day made starch and ironed baked bread, and darned
Jan. 11 Sunday Mrs. Jack came over took dinner with us In the evening Celia & Edna came to see if I could was for Celia
Jan. 12 I washed for Celia H. After dinner I went over to Coras a while came home got supper Maggie went over to the store to get her a flannelett dress. George went to the P.O. after supper and got me a letter from Sophia.
Jan. 13 I washed for Cora Mr. John Nichols came down to see me about Dollie staying here and going to school.
Jan. 14 I done Coras ironing at my home got done at 3 o clock. And took them home Cora gave me a nice piece of flesh meat.
Jan. 15, 1903 I done my washing I roe up a wool bed and washed it. Mrs. Jack came by on her way home from Morton’s. Maggie and I done all the plain ironing after supper.
Jan. 16 I worked at home all day. Mrs. Daley came over this afternoon to see if I wanted to make some wrappers for in the store. At night there was a surprise party here on Maggie. Ruby Jack and Nora D. got it up there was 16 girls, 11 boys, and 4 grown people and three of us making 34 all told. they played games and had a candy pulling. at midnight John Daley came for his folks. took Elva and Opal, left Nora to go home with Mrs. Jack. Ruby and Dollie Nichols It was a nice moon light night and not very muddy.
Jan. 17 We spent the forenoon ironing and cleaning up after the candy pull. Mr. Conover was here for dinner. After dinner Mr. Hasleton came here to see if I would go up there 2 or 3 days for their baby was very sick. I went and stayed until Monday night I had only been there about 1 hour when the baby died. George and Maggie stayed and batched at home.
Sunday Jan. 18 I was at Hazelton’s all day. But came down home after dinner to see how Maggie was getting along it rained all the afternoon. Mrs. Middle usher and myself sat up at Hazleton’s all night.
Jan. 19 I stay with Mrs. Hazleton and her children while Mr. H. went to the funeral. Mr. Peachy dismissed his school untill noon and took his scholars to the funeral services at the house. I came home at dark. me Mr. Hazleton just getting back. It rained most of the day and part of the night.
Jan. 20 I worked at home all the forenoon. went back to Mr. Hazletons afternoon found them better so I came home.
Jan. 21 It rained all last night and all day to day at 7 oclock at night Butte Creek was with in 2 feet of the tops of the bank, and still a raining. It rained, part of the night and the creek got just even with the bank.
Jan. 22 It is not raining to day but is very dark and cloudy. I am sewing on Maggie's dress.
Jan. 23 I worked at home all day and in the evening Maggie and I went over to Middlebushers George went up to Vestels to play for a dance It began raining at 4 oclock and rained for 28 hours with out stoping. It rained so hard all day Saturday that Maggie and I had to stay at Middlebushers untill Sunday morn and George never got home untill Sunday night. he went on up to the Mill from Vestell's.
Jan. 24 It is just pooring down rain and all the streams are raising very fast. At 4 oclock this evening Mrs. Middlebusher and myself went over to John Daleys pasture to look at Butte Creek. And I tell you it was full to the bank and still a raising It quite raining at 10 oclock Saturday night and Rogue R. and Butte Creek both were higher than they have been for several years. the Rogue River ferry washed out and part of the Bybee bridge. part of the Central Point bridge too.
Jan. 25 Sunday Maggie and I came home. It was a lovely day overhead, but Oh my how bad under foot. We got our dinner and Emma Walsh came up to invite us down to a candy pull at Sota Thomas. Tuesday evening. and Maggie went with her to invite the rest of the crowd.
Jan. 26 I washed for Celia H. Maggie stayed at home and got dinner for her pappa for there is no school this week.
Jan. 27 I washed for Cora O. and in the evening Nora Daley and Lee and Ocie Middlebusher came here to go to the candy pull with us. we all met at Mrs. Howlets Nora and Lee stayed all night with Maggie Ocie and Ruby stayed with Hattie Howlet.
Jan. 28 Nora and Lee went home this morning I had sick head ache so I didn't do any thing Dr. Officer brought their clothes over for me to iron. I felt better this afternoon so I ironed some. George went up to Halls to play for another dance. little Ed Winkle came for him yesterday evening.
Jan. 29 George got home at 9:30 P.M. Maggie and I washed at home and done some ironing. It was nice untill 4 oclock then it began to blow and rain.
Jan. 30 It snowed last night and snowed and rained most all day. At 3 oclock in the afternoon Bert Peachey and Carl Ringer came here to get George and Maggie to play for a party down at Charley Thomas'es. George got his new violin. Frank Brown brought it out from Medford. and my watch also. so George fixed up his new violin and played untill 12 P.M. It was snowing in great big flakes when they came home.
Jan. 31, 1903 It is till snowing this morning. It snowed and rained most of the day but the snow was so wet it melted as fast as it fell. This evening we went over to the organ to practice.

Feb. 1, 1903 Sunday we stayed at home all day. and an invitation over to Coras, but we had company come so we could not go. It was a beutifull day over head.
Feb. 2 I thought I would wash at home, but Nora and Ruby came down, then Mr. Peachey came over and we had a little school here at our house for all three of the girls were in trouble in their arithmetic. At noon Mrs. Jack came down to sew on my machine. so I helped her on Rubies dress. Mr. George Givens came up here for one to go down and stay a while with his wife but I could not leave home. Ruby stayed all night with Maggie. and we all went over to Cora Officers and spent the evening with music.
Feb. 3 I washed for Cora to day Maggie went home with Ruby and stayed all night with her.
Feb. 4 I washed for Mrs. George Brown got through at 2 P.M. spent the afternoon with Bell Daley, met Myrtle VonderHelen and Miss VonderHellen came home got early supper and went down and spent the evening at Mr. Frank Morine's had a lovely time never got home untill half past 10 0clock
Feb. 5 I washed at home today got through by noon. After noon I went to visit the school came home got supper and Mr. Conover came to stay all night. After supper Cora and Bessie brought their clothes over for me to iron.
Feb. 6 Mrs Jacks came down to finish Rubys dress. and after dinner Elba Daley came down to go to school so we all went to visit the school John Daley brought us 1 sk. of apples. It was very dark and cloudy all day.
Feb. 7 It is still dark & cloudy and sprinkling a little George traded Frank Pools Bill to his Father for all the lumber that is in the buildings and fences up to the mill, and also the lumber we had cut out for a house up there. I done Coras ironing to day. took it home this evening. George borrowed Cora's mandolin book to learn some pieces.
Feb. 8 Sunday I stayed at home all day. Mrs. Daley came over this afternoon I practiced on the mandolin. at night we went over to the organ so I could practice the chords. It was a nice day.
Feb. 9 I washed for Cora and helped her do some coloring Maggie took her dinner to school. I got a letter from Sophia to day.
Feb. 10 I washed for Celia got through at 11:30 am came home got dinner after dinner I cut Georges hair.
Feb. 11 I cut out my waist this morning. After dinner I went down to see Lulu.
Feb. 12 George went up to the mill to day and to morrow he will go to C. Edmondsons to play for a dance. I spent the day with Mrs. Jack to day got home at 5 P.M.
Feb. 13 It was the coldest night last night we have had this winter I sewed at home all day. went to Celias for milk. At night Elba, and Nora and Opal came down, and Maggie and I went over to the dance with them. I helped Mrs. Howlett make the coffee and wait on the table Maggie and I came home at 4 a.m. went to bed slept untill 8 oclock. Frank Nichols and Harry Cingcade gave the dance they had a nice dance and a big crowd It froze dredfull hard again the night of the 13.
Feb. 14 George got home at 2 oclock ate his dinner went to bed slept all the afternoon.
Feb. 15 Sunday. Ruby came down spent the day. At night we went over to the Organ.
Feb. 16, 1903 I washed at home to day. After dinner Mrs. Middlebusher came down to hem some black satteen ruffles.
Feb. 17 I sewed at home. In the afternoon Mr. Morine came over to look at the Phonograph he invited us down this evening. and we went had a pleasant time me Mr & Mrs. H. Pelton. Mr. Middlebusher was here this morning and got a bed spring that I traded to Mrs. Middlebusher.
Feb. 18 I went to Medford to day with Mr. & Mrs. Middlebusher. Got home at 6:30 P.M.
Feb. 19 I ironed at home Mrs. Peachey came over and spent the afternoon.
Feb. 20 I finished my waist and some other sewing. Mrs. Jack came down and spent the day. Jeff came down at night to play for a dance at Jerries Hall. George and Jeff played It broke up at mid night.
Feb. 21 We worked at home trimed the nut trees. dug up some ground. Emma Rader came by a little while. Pr. Peachey came and got 100 lbs potatoes At night we went over and spent the evening at Ringer.
Feb. 22 Sunday. It rained some in the forenoon. In the afternoon we went up to John Daley but they were not at home.
Feb. 23 I washed for Celia in the fore noon. and helped Mrs. Florey cut a waist in the afternoon. George went bee hunting but did not find any.
Feb. 24 I washed at home. and went back to Mrs. Floreys to do some stitching for her. George stayed in the Store with his Mother, for his father went to Medford. and settled up with Mr. Bradbury did not get any money this time, will next.
Feb. 25 Lee Middlebusher stayed all night with Maggie last night Mr. Lonigan came here this morning to plow our ground he plowed 2 pieces and charged $2.00 Lulu Pool came up and spent the afternoon.
Feb. 26 The two Georges went to cut a Bee tree, and I went with them. when we got up to J.D. John, Elba and Irve went too. We got back home at 1 oclock. George Jr. came and bought George Sr. hides Mrs. Middlebusher came down to have me stitch the silk on her grey shirt. I planted some radish & lettuce seed.
Feb. 27 I ironed and mended Mrs. Peachey came over after dinner for me to go to school. I went in the evening up to Bellows to a dance. he took the mandolin.
Feb. 28 George went to Round Top this morning, from Bellows. got home at 1 oclock. Maggie and I ironed and baked and in the afternoon we went up to John D. and got some flower plants. While we were gone George bought Mr. Morine’s piano, and moved it home. Mr. Morine and Hattie and Agnes Howlet came and spent the evening here We had lots of music the wind blew, cold all day.
Mar. 1 Sunday. a lovely day We went and spent the day with Emma Rader had a lovely time. Mrs. Howlet and Hattie came over there after dinner. so we all walked home together Maggie and I went to Young Peoples meeting George stayed at home to do some writing.
Mar. 2 I washed for Cora and Bessie to day. It rained nearly all day. George started to the mill but the rain scared him out. In the afternoon, he went up to John Daleys.
Mar. 3 I am picking wool at home to day. George went out bee hunting, but it is very cloudy Edna Charley came over and invited us over to Will Browns birthday party. We went never got home untill 1 oclock in the morning.
Mar. 4 George took the Phonograph down to Mr. Morine to day for we sold it to him It is very cold and cloudy to day. Mr. Ringer harrowed our ground this evening Emma Rader was here a little while. I lengthened Maggie Brown dress.
Mar. 5 I set out some straw berry plants this morning. Mrs. Griffeth was here this afternoon, so was Elva Middlebusher.
Mar. 6 George went up to the mill. I worked out in the garden some Mrs. Jack spent the afternoon with me Elva Middlebusher came for a collar pattern Dollie Nichols came for Maggie to go home with her but she could not this time. Grand Ma Daley came over a little while in the evening. I got a rooster from Lue Pool.
Mar. 7 Maggie and I baked for Noras party. George got home at 4 PM so we all got ready and went over to the hall to a party. stayed untill 11 oclock
Mar. 8, 1903 Sunday. the children all gathered here to go up to John Daleys We left at 10:30 a.m. it rained and snowed in the fore noon and made the walking very bad. We never got home untill after 6 oclock. Maud Peachey stayed all night with Maggie.
Mar. 9 Bessie Carlton came over for me to wash for them so I left mine untill after dinner. I got home at 2 oclock Emma Rader and Donnie Rader were here a little while George cleaned up his Bycicle and got it ready to ride.
Mar. 10 I washed for Celia to day got home at 1 P.M. helped George clean up my wheel this after noon. Maggie went to stay all night with Nora to night. At 7 oclock Hattie Howlet came up and wanted us to go down to see Arglee so we got ready and went got home at 12 oclock.
Mar. 11 I went to a rag sewing to Cora Officers was gone all day. John Daley came by this evening to get the key to the house up at the mill. Agnes Howlet came up for some yeast Later Mr & Mrs Howlet Mr Want Parker, Hattie & Agness Howlet came up to spend the evening. It rained last night, and all day to day is still raining this evening and the creek is raising quite fast. Mr. Peachey got another sack of potatoes $1.00
Mar. 12 It rained all night and is just pouring down this morning It rained all day. I worked at home. Jeff came down and stayed all night with us, we played music untill 10 oclock
Mar. 13 A beautifull morning Jeff went home. Lulu Pool came up to have me go down and measure some goods for her. Mrs. Jack came down and helped me finish picking my wool. It rained in the after noon so her and Ruby stayed all night. Carl Ringer and his two sisters came over to spend the evening Scot and Lulu and their children came up, had lots of music if it did rain. they all stayed untill 10:30 oclock.
Mar. 14 It is still raining so Mrs. Jack and Ruby stayed all day and all night In the afternoon Jean Stowel came down to se Georges violin and to play with the piano.
Mar. 15 Sunday the sun is trying to shine Mrs. Jack and Ruby went home. After dinner John Daley his family, Bertha Wyland and Ruby Jack came down. Mrs. Howlet came up and we had some music they all stayed for supper, but Mrs. Howlet and then we all went to Young Peoples Meeting and it rained. Johns folks all went home, after Young Peoples meeting was out
Mar. 16 I washed at home. George went Bee hunting and on up to Brownsboro After dinner I went up to Mrs. Jacks for some rose roots and spinach plants. Bert, Bertha, Ernest & Maud Peachey, Chalmer R. and Mr. Slanten (a stranger) came over to spend the evening, and hear some music.
Mar. 17 I sewed for Lulu today Jeff Conover ate dinner with George. Maggie went home with Bessie Hazleton, to stay all night. At night John Daley came by, and George went over to the hall with him, to attend a meeting concerning a cemetry to be established. at Eagle Point Oregon.
Mar. 18 I sewed at home but for Lulu Pool. Lulu came up and stayed all afternoon and took supper with us Scott came after Lulu so I had him eat too. I set out 26 more stawberrie plants
Mar. 19 I sewed in the forenoon In the afternoon George and I went down to Arglees on our wheels.
Mar. 20 I worked at home. Dollie Nichols came down in the afternoon and stayed till school was out she wanted Maggie to go home with her, but there was a candy pull at Peacheys. and she had promised to go there. so her and I went to the candy pull Bessie Hazleton came and stayed all night with Maggie
Mar 21 Maggie ironed George and I planted our garden, the small seeds. In the evening Elva Middlebusher came over to stay all night with M. and go to a dance, so we all went over a little while. Opal Daley came home with Maggie and stayed all night we are having beautiful weather now, the sun shines real warm in the middle of the day
Mar. 22 Sunday. I cleaned up the house, and then got dinner. After dinner Irve Daley and his wife came down, Cora and Celia came over and Bell was here. Maggie and Elva took Opal home. Maud Peachey came and wanted Maggie to go stay all night with her but she could not to night.
Mar. 23 I washed for Celia got through and back home by 11 a.m. worked at home in the after noon.
at night Mr & Mrs Want Parker and son Mr & Mrs Howlet and 2 daughters came up and spent the evening with us.
Mar. 24, 1903 I washed at home In the after noon I went down to Mrs. Howlets and Lulu
Mar. 25 I ironed and fixed a pair of sleeves for Mrs. A. J. Daley.
Mar. 26 George went up Antelope this morning with Mr Charley Morine It is a very windy day I worked at home went over to the store a little while in the after noon. Mrs. Middlebusher was here for potatoes but I did not have any more to sell. George got home at 5:30
Mar. 27 It rained last night and is still raining this morning I am sewing on Maggies pink dress. Mr Clair was here for dinner. It rained and blowed all day to day.
Mar. 28 It is still raining this morning but I am going to Central Point with Robby Jonas and take the train for Grants Pass I got to Central Point at 11 oclock ate dinner and supper with Annie Bish took the train at 10 P.M. the train was 5 hours late. Maggie stayed at her Aunt Elbas George batched at home. I was gone 12 days got to Central Point April 9 took dinner with Annie Bish and then walked out to Eagle Point got here at 3:30 P.M.
April 10 I worked at home and went to see Mrs. Jonas about some chickens.
April 11 George went up to the Mill. Maggie and I washed and scrubbed George got home at 2 oclock We got dinner, then George and I went up to John Daleys on our wheels Maggie stayed at home and ironed.
April 12 Easter Sunday. Maggie went upon the hill with a crowd of boys and girls. George and I stayed at home untill evening then we went out for a little ride on our Bikes.
April 13 George went to Medford this morning. I took Maggies shoes to the shoe shop. George got home at 11:30 A.M. Elba Daley came down this afternoon.
April 14 Loingan hauled us 5 loads of manure $2.00 MRs. Lonigan came up a little while. In the evening Lulu P. came up for a start of yeast.
April 15 George and I went down to the Ray Dam on Rogue River and back by C. P. got home at 5:20 P.M. we went on our wheels.
April 16 George spred the manure on the garden this morning In the afternoon I went down and cut out Lulus black dress skirt
April 17 I sewed on Lulus dress. In the afternoon Lulu came up, brought the silk thread to stitch with.
April 18 I worked out of doors all forenoon. Mr. Conover and Lottie were here to dinner. Donnie Rader came here this afternoon brought me 2 lbs butter In the evening, Mr. & Mrs. Robinett Scott Pool and his wife, spent the evening here we had music.
April 19 Sunday. we had another freeze last night Nora came down and spent the day with Maggie in the evening George and I rod up to John Daleys on our wheels. Nora stayed all night with Maggie.
April 20 I washed at home sewed in the afternoon Lulu came up and took supper with us Celia Homes came over to get me to wash for her. Maggie went home with Dollie Nichols to stay all night. At night Edgar and Ella Smith and one little boy came and stayed all night with us. We had not met for 5 years.
April 21 Edgar and Ella left this morning. I washed for Celia. got home at 2:30. George was gone over to John Raders. It rained a nice warm rain, this afternoon.
April 22 I finished Lulus skirt. Jeff Conover brought down our planet Jr. and our seed potatoes. George worked the strawberries, and we planted some more beet seed. because the frost killed my others. Lulu came up and got her dress skirt.
April 23 George and I started to the mill at 6 o clock this morning got there at 11 oclock We worked in the strawberries all afternoon. Mr. Conover came over after dinner to see how to plant the garden, and to get some more strawberry plants. Maggie stayed with Osie M.
SawMill April 24 George and I worked all the fore noon in our strawberries Ate our dinner and came back to Eagle Point got one bird on our way home, got home at 7 o clock. evening Maggie was getting supper.
April 25 We worked at home all day. Donnie Rader came over and took a music lesson. Dolly Nichols came down to stay all night, with Maggie. Nora Daley, Ruby Jack, and Osie Middlebusher came here to go to a candy pull at Mr. Lonigans, so Maggie Dolly, and myself went with them. Nora, Osie and Dlooy all stayed with Maggie all night.
April 25, 1903 Sunday. We were all invited to a birthday dinner down to Lulu P. George and I went but Maggie and the girls stayed here. Elba Daley came down a little while in the evening. Dollie went home at 5 P.M.
April 27 I washed at home. George went up to Brownsborough. Mrs. A. J. Daley came over a little while Opal came here from school with the toothache. George got home at 3:30
April 28 George went up to the Mill to move some irons up to the house. I sewed for Lulu Pool. made 2 calico wrappers. George got home at 7 oclock.
April 29 We all went up to Brownsborough to Edna Charleys funeral. George and I went on our wheels. Maggie went with the school children in a carriage. we all got home in the evening.
April 30. I am working at home. some in the garden, and some in the house. Mr Ringer harrowed our potato ground again this morning. I cut out my calico dress and made the most of my skirt and tucked the sleeves to Maggies pink waist.
May 1 I sewed at home all day. George hunted hawks in the fore noon.
May 2 Maggie and I ironed scrubbed and baked. In the afternoon, Miss Zuda Owens and Miss Estella Pleasant came to try and get a scholar for to learn music. Estella is a teacher Maggie had gone up to Noras. George and I planted some popcorn and some squash seed. I went over to the store and got 10 cents worth of sweet corn to plant We packed water and watered our garden to night.
May 3 Sunday. We all stayed at home till noon. Dollie Nichols came down at noon. Lee and Osie Middlebusher came her for dinner after S. School. then 16 of the boys & girls met here to all go up to Middlebushers to spend the afternoon George and I went over to the store for Mr & Mrs. Daley went to Central P while we were there Elba Daley came down with Opal to have a tooth pulled so I went to Robinetts with them. But Mr Robinett could not pull it In the evening Bertha & Maud Peachey came over a little while.
May 4 I washed at home. George was called to Medford on business. but it proved to be a wild goose chase. Howlet took him and his Father over. Mrs Jack came down and spent the afternoon Maggie went home with Dollie to stay all night George got home at 6 P.M.
May 5 I sewed at home all day. George went upon Yankee Creek to see Mrs. Walsh. We took the instrument and went over to Ringers and spent the evening.
May 6 We planted some of our potatoes this morning. It got real cloudy and looked like rain, but it has all blowed over. George has gone out on the hill hunting hawks. Georges Mother came one and brought me a letter from Sophey In the evening we all went over to Mr Peacheys and spent the evening.
May 7 George went up to the saw mill to see about some lumber Mrs. Jack and Ruby came down a little while in the afternoon. I went over to Bella in the evening. I cut out Maggies white skiert to day. It froze ice as thick as a window glass last night
May 8 I finished Maggies skirt George got home at noon After dinner I was busy sewing when I heard a great noise and I jumped up ran to the door, looked out and saw a team running It was Mr Middlebushers team. It started at the flour mill, ran down the road across the creek and was caught by Bill Vanderhelen opposite the Eagle Point School house Mr M was on the toung when the team started, and Ora was in the wagon. It threw Mr off and the kind wheel ran over his chest and crushed him so bad, that he died in 2 hours Osa stayed in the wagon untill the team was caught I stay up with Mrs. M. at Mrs. Peacheys untill after mid night then her sister stayed with her Osa, Enid and Denise came home with Maggie and stayed all night with her.
May 9 I got breakfast over here at home then I went up to Mrs. Middlebushers with Mr. Vincent and helped get the children ready for the funeral. we all had dinner up there. And then came back to go to the funeral. I went with the children. Maggie went with Mr & Mrs. Peachey. George went to Medford we were all gone all day got home at 7 oclock.
May 10 Sunday. We all stayed at home all day. After dinner Frank and Della Nichols came down and spent the afternoon and took supper with us. Joe Moomaw and Mrs. Ebersole came over to hear the music In the evening Maggie and I went and spent the evening with Cora Officer.
May 11, 1903 George and I went over to Jay Grovers this morning and got some where George fixed Gove Holman organ this forenoon. And we finished planting potaotes and planted some beans. In the evening we sold out a black wallnut tree. that we got over to Georges Fathers.
May 12 I washed to day. It is real cloudy Jeff Conover ate dinner here. In the evening, Margurite Floerey came over to see if I could wash for them.
May 13 I washed for Mrs. Florey George went up to J. Harts in the morning and hunting on the Nichols Butte in the afternoon. I got a grubbing hoe and began to grub the spouts out in the orchard. George got home at 7 P.M. Hattie Howlet spent the evening here.
May 14 George started up to Olsens mill this morning to see a man that wants to buy a mill I ironed and grubed and pieced down Maggies white skirt.
May 15 It is real cloudy this morning. I grubed all forenoon. darned and mended all afternoon. George got home at 7 oclock in the evening
May 16 George and I grubed all fore noon. Maggie ironed. It tryed to rain. did hail some I made Maggies wool bed in the afternoon.
Sunday May 17 This morning Hatti H. brought 21 ladies over to see us. A Mrs & Miss Wilson from Iowa. Miss Wilson wanted to practice on our Piano. Maggie went home with Nora, and after dinner 6 girls went over to Middlebushers George and I went up to John Daleys after dinner.
May 18 Donnie Rader came over this morning to take a music lesson It is still cloudy but it can not rain George and I grubed most of the day At night we took the instruments and went over to spend the evening at Mr. Howlets
May 19 George had to work the road. I washed at home grubed some in the evening after George got home.
May 20 George worked the road again to day. I went to a quilting and rag sewing at Mrs. Howlets there were 23 ladies Mrs Middlebusher came over to get me to stay all night with her but I let Maggie go Clara Young wanted me to sew but I could not.
May 21 I went down to Mrs. Jonas's. got a dress to make. came home, got dinner After dinner I sewed some, and grubed some. was over to Sarah Coys little while at night Ernest P. and Jake Jonas came here to see if they could have a candy pull here.
May 22 I sewed in the fore noon. After dinner I went over to see Mrs. Moore the black smiths wife George went over to see Emma Rader. Maggie went home with Dolly Nichols after school was out.
May 23 George went up to the saw mill to meet a man that promised to be there to look at the mill. Mrs. Jack and Ruby were here for dinner Maggie and Dolly came home at 6 oclock in the evening. Hattie and Agnes came up stayed till eleven.
May 24 Sunday the rain has all blew away. It did not rain here at all only cloudy and cold. After dinner Dollie and Maggie went and got Bertha & Maude then they all went up to Noras. I was a lone all afternoon I went to Mrs. Jonas'es in the evening. took her dress home George got home at 8 oclock had his supper at Johns
May 25 George went to Medford with John Daley. I washed at home got all through by 11 oclock After dinner I washed for Celia Holmes. George got home at 6 oclock did not do any business.
May 26 I helped Mrs. Jonas. was very cloudy all day.
May 27 I helped Mrs. Joanas again It rained a little shower in the afternoon George went hawk hunting. Jeff Conover was down, and George sent some grub up to the mill.
May 28 George went to Medford to see Mr. Heely, about the mill. I still worked for Mrs. Jonas t night. George and myself went to Grovers and got some more wheat Maggie went over to Peacheys Call Pool came home with her and stayed all night.
May 29 George went up to Conovers and on up to Big Butte to play for a dance. Call left. I went to work again. At night Call Pool and Emma Baker both came and stayed all night.
May 30, 1903 Call and Emma left. Maggie and I worked all day at Mrs. Jonas. George got home at 9 oclock some of my little chickens want to roost over to Mrs. Howlet so I tryed to get them home.
May 31 Sunday. at home all forenoon We all went to Mrs. Howlets after dinner.
June 1 I helped George build a small chicken house in the forenoon. After dinner I worked over to the hall. Mrs. Howlet Mrs. Nighten Mrs F. Lewis & myself we took care of the kitchen & dining rooms They had a large crowd Nora came down and went to the dance with Maggie and then stayed, all night with her.
June 2 I got home this morning at 4:30 A.M. brought part of my things home, got breakfast. and then went back and finished cleaning up the things in the kitchen, and scrubed it clean brought the rest of my things home, and hoed out the potatoes Wilbert Ashpole came over to get me to go wash for his mother tomorrow
June 3 I went up to Ashpole early this morning. George and Maggie stayed at home. I did not get home for 2 days.
June 4 I am still at Mrs. Ashpoles George and Maggie are still batching. Donnie came over took another lesson. I got home at 6 P.M. went down to Lulu got her clothes to iron.
June 6 I ironed at home all day. took Lulus clothes home after supper. Scott and Lulu came up awhile in the evening.
June 6 George went up to Conovers and then on over to McNeil Creek. to play for a dance. Maggie & I washed and scrubbed at home. I went up to John Daley got a gallon of vinegar.
June 7 Sunday. a beautiful morning we are expecting to go down to the Ray Dam to day John came at 9 oclock so Maggie and I went with them to the dance when we got across the dessert we met John Rader to family and Mr. Howlet & family and Mrs. Thomas. waiting for us. Then we all went down together. We drove down below the dam on the South side of the river turned around and came back a half mile above the dam and ate our dinner After dinner we all walked back down to the dam. took in all the sights which took all the after noon. started home at 5 oclock got home at 7 George had got home at one o clock. John Daley broke the tounge out of his hack.
June 8 I washed at home. Roy Ashpole came down to get me to go up and take care of his mother. so in the evening I went up. George and Maggie stayed at home.
June 9 George and Maggie are still batching I washed for Mrs. A.
June 10 Maggie ironed some at home.
June 11 Roy brought me home, this evening. George went up to the mill this morning. Maggie stayed with her grandma D.
June 12 George went to Medford with John, to day. Emma Rader was here a while. she brought me a piece of meat. I went over to see Mrs. Robinett for she had got hurt. Sophia and family came in from California. John Simon & wife drove them up from Gold Hill. This evening a few of Maggies school mates came in to have a little dance. They danced untill 11: oclock.
June 13 I worked at home all day. Donnie came over and took another lesson Maggie went home with
Donnie, to stay all night. Sophia and Porter ate supper here. and then stayed all night.
June 14 Sunday. after breakfast Sophia and Porter left went down to Robinett George and I were home alone untill 3 P.M. then Annie Watkins and Sophia came up spent the afternoon Maggie came home in the evening.
June 15 George and I went up to the mill to make some posts. Maggie stayed with her Grandma Daley so she could feed and water the chickens
June 19 George and I got home at 11:30 oclock we were gone 4 1/2 days we made 220 posts done quite a bit of slashing and burning of brush on the east side of the creek.
Eagle Point Dollie Nichols came down Maggie went home with her stayed all night.
June 20 I washed at home. Wilbert Ashpole came down and wanted me to go up and stay all night I went up after 6 oclock. Dollie came home with Maggie and they invited a few boys and girls and went up to John Daleys and had a little dance George played for them.
June 21, 1903 Sunday. I stayed at Ashploes all day. Dollie & Nora stayed with Maggie. It rained quite a shoer in the afternoon.
June 22 I got me a new dress skirt and cut it out. After dinner I went down to Lulus for she was sick. At night the young folks has a candy pull here. 4 girls and 6 boys.
June 23 I washed for Cora After dinner Sophia came up and I helped her wash her wool bed.
June 24 George went up to the mill and to Conover Sophia came up and we pieced her a comforter top. Maggie went up to Dollies on the wheel and over to Noras. Then Nora and Opal came down here for their mother and Father went to Medford. In the evening they went home and Maggie went back with them to stay all night. Porter and Sophia stayed all night with me. We picked wool untill 12 oclock.
June 25 Sophia stayed all day she washed none of her wool comforters Dr. Officer came and wanted me to iron. I could not go over. so they went their clothes over. Maggie got home from Noras at 10 A. M. then she ironed George got home at 8 oclock brought down 1 gallon of strawberries Maggie stayed all night with Bertha Peachey. for her Mother and Father were gone to Central Point.
June 26 I put up my Strawberries got 2 qts. then made me a lawn waist. Sophia was here all day picking her wool. In the evening Maggie and I went over to Celias to get a hat.
June 27 It rained some to day At eleven oclock. Sophia and I went over to Lulus to help her give Josie a stem bath In the afternoon Mrs. Martin came over to practice on our Piano At night George, Maggie and I went over to Jerries hall. played for a dance for Charley Cingcade. $4.00
June 28 Sunday. maggie went to Sunday School and then on home with Nora and Opal. In the evening I went up home with Elba. D. to get Lonnies pattern came home went to bed sick.
June 29 I was sick all day Maggie had to do the work. Sophia came to pick wool in the after noon.
June 30 I never got out of bed all day. Maggie did the washing all alone. George went up to the Mill got 2 gal. S. Berries. got home at 4 oclock.
July 1 I was able to sit up a while to day. Maggie ironed some Sophia came up and put up my strawberries. Mrs. A.J. Daley. came over to see how I was and I was better.
July 2 Maggie finished her ironing. I was some better. Sophia came up and cut out some sewing.
July 3 Maggie done her baking. I helped her some Sophia came up baked a cake and then finished picking her wool. George went up to the mill. and then on up to McNeil creek to the celebration. In the evening Maggie went up to Noras to stay all night. and go to the celebration with them Sophia and Porter stayed all night with me.
July 4 I was home all day Sophia and Porter stayed all day with me Scott and Lulu came up in the afternoon.
Porter got a keg of beer.
July 5 Mrs.A. J. Daley came over to see how I was I was much better Maggie came home at 10:30. Nora & Ruby came home with her. They all went to S.S. came home with Maggie to dinner so did Austin Green Wilfred Jack and Chancey Florey, Sophia and Porter and Ed. Coy were here to dinner too. George got home at 7 oclock brought 2 gallon S. Berries from the mill
July 6 I bottled my S. Berries Sophia came up and we tacked her wool bed. Lulu came up in the afternoon.
July 7 Sophia came up and we made her a bonnet finished her wrapper and done some other sewing, and Sophia gave Maggie a lesson in oil painting In the afternoon Mrs. Howlet came up to see me.
July 8 I washed at home for myself and Cora After dinner I went down to Robinett to help Sophia do some packing.
July 9 I ironed at home. borrowed a set of irons from Mrs. Howlet so Maggie could iron too. After dinner Maggie went up to Dollie Nichols to invite her to a little dance at her home. Sophia and I went up to Elba Daleys took supper up there got home at 8 P.M.
Aug 10 George went back up to the mill on account of fire. Maggie and I went up to John Nichols, to help cook for the thrashers. George got back to E. P. at 2 oclock after noon.
Aug 11 Maggie came home this morning to do some washing and get ready to go to Central Point I stayed until after dinner, then came down, and John Daley took Maggie, Nora and I over to pack apples. George had to go back to the mill stayed all night.
Aug 12, 1903 George came home in the evening. Maggie and I, Nora and Bertha began work this morning at Central P. packing apples.
Aug 13 George got out here this morning in time to work all day we are all boarding with Mr Peacheys, they are camped out here drying apples.
Aug 14 We run out of apples to day at 2 P M so the bass shut down until Monday George got on his wheel and went to Eagle Point told John Daley what was done, and John came in after us. We left Central Point at 8 oclock got the Eagle Point at 10:30 in the night.
Aug 15 Eagle Point home again George went to se about the fire again it is out in the woods near the mill. Maggie and I sewed and washed. George got home at 8 P M found every thing all right at the mill
Aug 16 Sunday we were home until after dinner. then went up to John Daleys for vegetables to take the Central Point.
Aug 17 We are all ready to go back to Apple pack this morning Maggie and I went with John Daley. George went out on Henry’s wheel. We got to Central Point at 11 oclock got dinner packed apples after noon.
Aug 18 We packed all day.
Aug 19 George quit and came home. sent John after us, for we got through, at noon to day.
Aug 20 Maggie and I washed at home. we washed Maud and Bertha Peacheys white dresses.
Aug 21 we ironed to day. And went up to John Daleys. For George was helping John on his flume he helped him 2 days this time.
Aug 22 George helped John until noon then came home to get ready to play for a dance in E. P. We all 3 played.
Sunday Aug 23 We all walk up to the wood camp this morning, started at 10 oclock got up to the ranch at 3 in the afternoon I got the mules and a wagon and went over to the mill for my camp out fit Maggie and Lottie went with me.
Aug 24 We began cutting wood fell one tree cut of 15 cuts
Aug 25 Finished the first tree and cut one more. And cut off 15 cuts. It rained this evening and nearly all night
Aug 26 It is still raining this morning We had a hard time to get breakfast. It quit raining at 11 P M so we could work. We split up all we had sawed.
Aug 27 We cut wood until noon went over to the mill in the afternoon packed in all of our tools got ready to go down the mountain.
Aug 28 We walked down to E.P. got here at 11 oclock got dinner and then got ready to go to the circus at Medford. Lottie Conover came down, with the mules, stayed all night with us and we all went to the circus together.
Aug 29 Circus day, we left Eagle Point at 6 oclock A M got in Medford at 8 stay in Medford all day got home at 8 evening.
Aug 30 Sunday. Lottie went home after dinner. George started to go up the mountain with her got as far as John Daleys took a chill, had to come back. I went up to come back. I went up to J.D. got some wild plums in the evening. Mrs Annie Parker and 2 of her children spent the evening here Frank and Amy Brown were here.
Aug 31 I washed for Amy B. Maggie worked at home. George and Maggie went up to Johns after some more wild plums and John brought us 200 lbs of pears After dinner I pealed and bottled pears until 10 oclock at night.
Sept. 1 I washed for Celia H. got home at 1:30 worked in pears and wild plums.
Sept. 2 I washed at home and George and I burned the brush out in our orchard.
Sept. 3 I kept house for Cora Officer while she and Dr went to Medford. Maggie done some washing for Mr Florey at home, and done our ironing.
Aug 4, 1903 George went up to the mill this morning to meet Charley Edmondson, I pulled onions for Holmes.
Aug 5 Maggie and I worked at home all day. George got home at noon in the evening we all went up to J.D. and got some more wild plums and some apples.
Sep 6 Sunday Maggie went to S.S. Nora came home with her spent the day here. After dinner Hattie Howlet came up and Elba Daley came down. At night Maggie went home with Nora
Sep 7 School Started this morning. Maggie went. I washed for Cora.
Sep 8 I washed for Celia. And in the afternoon. I worked at home.
Sep 9 I pulled onions for Gove Holmes.
Sep 10 I toped onions for Gove Holmes.
Sep 11 I washed for at at home George layed around doctoring his erysipelas. Lulu Martin came over to see if I wanted some pears I took 30 lbs.
Sep 12 Maggie and I ironed scrubbed & baked. George went hunting upon the antelope Mt. John came by for George to work the road it rained most of the day I got 28 pounds of tomatoes from A. J. Daley at night we all went over to Jerries hall to dance when we got there they wanted us to play, so we came back and got our instruments. Dollie Nichols came home with us to sleep
Sep 13 Dollie went home this morning. Maggie went to S. S. Lee Middlebusher came home with her to dinner. After dinner they went up to Noras to meet the rest of the girls. George went over to Bradshaws to see about packing apples.
Sep 14 George went up on the mountain to pile up over wood we had 10 tier I washed at home. Celia came over to get me to top onions after dinner.
Sep 15 I washed for Cora George got home at 11 ate a lunch and went back on the foot of the Mt. hunting for bear. After dinner I went up to see Mrs. Jack for she was sick.
Sep 16 I was sick at home all day myself.
Sep 17 I worked at home. George helped me gather a bucket of ground cherries in his Fathers garden. I put up 2 quarts. After dinner I went and toped onions. Jeff Conover stayed all night here. We played music until 10 oclock Hattie brought the milk up and of course her and Maggie had to have a two step
Sep 18 I worked at home all day to day. Went over to the store in the evening, got Maggie some black ribbon At night we all went over to the hall to a dance. Maggie stayed. George came home. I went to Mrs. Howlets to help her, with the supper. We were busy until 3:30 in the morning, then Mrs. Howlet and I went over to the hall for our girls got back home at 4:30 AM
Sep 19 worked at home till noon. After dinner Maggie went over to her Grandma I went and toped onions
Sep 20 Sunday. George went up on the mountain Maggie, Nora, Ruby, and I went up to John Nichols, spent the day up there got home at 6:30 found George eating his supper. He thought we would stay all night
Sept. 21 I worked for Holmes all day in the onions got through at 4 o clock
Sept. 22 I washed for Celia. George went hunting but did not find any game. Afternoon I put up tomaties at home.
Sept. 23 I helped Mrs. Jonas cook all day to day preparing for some ladies that were coming to have a convention for the W. C. T. U. George went up to Mrs. Jacks got 22 lbs A
Sept. 24 I went down to Mrs. Jones got 2 gal. french prunes. went up to the hall with Mrs. Joans. helped her sweep and dust it, came home and got one bucket of tomatoes and put them up. George went up to the sawmill with John D. to let John have some lumber. George came near breaking both legs by catching them on a rock and stump he never got home untill 8 o clock.
Sept. 25 I washed at home. George layed around peting his legs.
Sept. 26 Maggie and I ironed and scrubed and baked got ready to have a dance here at our house. There were 20 young folks 10 girls and 10 boys they danced till 1 o clock Dollie Nichols, Nora & Opal Daley stayed all night with Maggie.
Sept. 27, 1903 Sunday Maggie & Dollie went home with Nora to spend the day, for she was going to be alone. After dinner, George went over to Bradshaws again to see what conclusion they had come to about packing but they had none yet. I went up to John Daleys got some apples. We all got home at 6:30 P.M. Ruby came home with Maggie to stay all night
Sept. 28 I went up to John Daleys to wash for Mrs Long. Elba Daleys sister. George came up about noon to see John. Stayed for dinner. I stayed all day and ironed.
Sept. 29 I washed for Cora to day. washed 7 lace curtains got home at 2:30 P.M. cleaned up the front room
Sept. 30 I washed for Celia got through before Nora came home got dinner after dinner I put up tomatoes and prunes.
Oct. 1 I washed for Amy washed clothes and bedding, took all day got home in the evening got supper and we all went up to John Daleys to have some music and to see Mrs. & Mr. Long. Elbas sister & Husband.
Oct. 2 I worked at home. George helped me pick up a bucket of ground cherries. After dinner George went up to Vestels to help play for a dance. I went up to visit with Elba and Mary at night Maggie went home with Dollie to help her cook for her dance. I spent the evening at Howlets. Agnes stayed all night with me.
Oct 3 Agness went home this morning. I starched and ironed George got home at 10:30 went to bed. slept untill 2 P.M. got up, I got dinner and then we walked up to John Nichols to a dance.
Oct. 4 George and I walked home this morning Maggie went home with Dollie to get her clothes. We got home at 7 o clock got breakfast, and George went to bed, slept till 3 P.M. Maggie got home at 2:30 Artie Nichols brought her down as far as Mrs. J. I worked all day geting ready to pack apples up at John Daleys
Oct. 5 Monday. We all went to pack at Johns but he was not ready so we all 3 and Nora D. and Bertha Wyland went over to Bradshaws to pack, but their boss did not come, so Lee B. brought us and the nailing Jack, back to John Daleys, and we worked there after dinner.
Oct. 6 We all packed at Johns George got the Job of nailing boxes.
Oct. 7 We had to go back to Bradshaws again John took us over in the big wagon we backed all day. George came home at night, us girls stayed over there.
Oct. 8 We all packed all day got nearly through with the red cheeks so Mr. Bradshaw brought us home in the wagon.
Oct. 9 We packed at Johns till noon, then we had to quit because John had no nailing Jack. After dinner he went to Bradshaws and got one, but it was to late to pack any more. I came home and done my washing George went with John Maggie stay with Nora untill evening. It rained most all the afternoon.
Oct. 10 It rained most of the night, is still raining this morning, but we went to work up to Johns just the same we packed all day.
Oct. 11 George went bear hunting this morning up on the Antelope Mt. Maggie and I were alone till after dinner then Nora and Henry came over a while. George got home at 6 P.M.
Oct. 12 We all packed at Johns till noon then came down to Holmeses and packed all afternoon.
OCt. 13 We packed at Holmeses till noon, got through went back to Johns but did not pack, for there were no apples sorted.
Oct. 14 packed at Johns all day.
Oct. 15 Got through at Johns at 2 P.M. I came home and washed Maggie went over to Bradshaws with the rest of the girls. John Daley took them over. Sophia & Porter spent the evening here.
Oct. 16 I walked over to Bradshaws this morning, got there at 7 o clock packed apples untill noon, then I went in the kitchen to work. George went hunting again but got no game saw 2 deer, but the dogs run them off. he got home in the evening.
Oct. 17 Maggie packed 28 box I worked in the kitchen all day. George came over in the afternoon. waited till I got through, then came home with me.
Oct 18, 1903 I was home all day. Sophia and Porter spent the day here took dinner and supper here. In the afternoon Mrs. John Nichols, Dollie and Fay were here, and in the evening Donnie Rader came in a while. Maggie went back to Bradshaws.
Oct. 19 Early this morning, I went back to Bradshaws to work in the kitchen George went part way with me.
Oct. 20 George went up to the saw mill, got back to Jeffs, stayed all night.
Oct. 21 George came back to Eagle Point this morning and in the afternoon he came over to Brads where we were working stayed a while, and came back to Eagle Point.
Oct. 22 George came back to Bradshaws this morning, to let us known about the dance at Eagle Point Saturday
Oct. 23 The girls got through packing the new towns to day at noon, began on the Ben Davis after dinner.
Oct. 24 We all got through work to day at noon, and Lee Bradshaw, paid us off, and brought us all home. George was up to Johns Maggie and I got home from Bradshaws at 5 oclock I worked in the kitchen 7 days got $7.00 Maggie worked in the packing house all the time. George batched at home We all went to the dance to night took a part stayed untill midnight.
Oct. 25 Sunday Maggie and I stayed at home all day. George went up the creek to look after his traps. he caught a Otter but it pulled out and got away. Sophia came up after dinner. stayed untill evening.
Oct. 26 George went over the trap line again had a Otter. Maggie and I done our washing After dinner, Sophia and Porter came up and we all went up to John Daleys
Oct. 27 George Maggie and Alice all went up to Johns to dry apples we filled the dryer by noon, then George came back down for some more traps and Maggie went home with Dollie W. to stay all night I never got home untill 8 o clock evening.
Oct. 28 George and I went back to the dryer this morning, got it filled by 10 P.M. then George went over his trap line got one coon (small) Maggie got back from Dots at 4 P.M. We all got home from the dryer at 8 P.M.
OCt 29 George went up the creek looking for fur sing and places to set out traps. Maggie and I worked at home, ironing, sewing and cleaning up. In the evening I went down to see Sophia Maggie went and got Noras skirt pattern george got home at 6 o clock
Oct. 30 George went over the trap line. he got 1 duck yesterday Maggie is ironing I am going to cut out Maggie a school skirt this morning Sophia came up in the afternoon George got home at 4 P.M. was nothing in the traps We all went down to Roinetts to spend the evening.
Oct. 31 George went to Medford this morning on Henrys wheel. Maggie and I cleaned up the house, finished her skirt, let the hem out of her blue percale and mended. George got home at 3 :30 went down to the dam. from Medford.
Nov. 1 Sunday. George went over the trap line. Maggie and I went up to John Daleys for some things they got for us, in town we came home, got dinner, then Maggie went to S. S. I went down to Robinetts. Sophia came home with me, spent the afternoon here. In the evening, Mrs. Peachey & family, Mr. & Mrs. Howlets & family Miss Bulah Kingcade, Miss Edna Whipley, Miss May Abbot and Miss Floy Florey, and Mr. Wilber and Wilfred Jack , Mr. Fred & Austin Green, Mr. Ed Cingcade and Mr. Lue Smith all came here to spend the evening, and have some music, stayed untill eleven o clock all reported having a nice time. George got home at 4 P.M. caught nothing.
Nov. 2 George went over part of his line, found nothing came back, and stayed in the store with his mother for his Father had gone to Medford. I washed at home. Maggie started to school again, after a 4 week vacation. 3 weeks apple packing and 1 week institute George put out some more traps out this evening.
Nov. 3 George went out over the trap line. Mr. Elis was here to borrow a pair of rubber boots. Mr. Peachey was here to see George A beef pedler was here I went down to Jonas'es After dinner , got a brown leghorn rooster, George got home at 5:30 got 1 duck 1 mink
Nov. 4, 1903 It rained last night is still raining this morning George went over the line got nothing I cut out Maggies red percale.
Nov. 5 cloudy. but not raining George went over the trap line got 1 mink and 1 duck. Sophia spent the forenoon with me she ate dinner here. In the evening, George Maggie and I went over to Dr. Officers to practice with Mr. George Brown, and the Piano and Cora.
Nov. 6 I sewed on Maggies dress, and done some baking for the dance. to night. Sophia came up and helped me after dinner. George went over the trap line, got 1 duck. At night we all went over to the hall, they had quite a large crowd, considering that it rained. It began at 5 oclock and rained all night.
Nov. 7 It is real cloudy this morning. It snowed last night George went over the trap line. Mrs. Martin came over to give, Maggie a music lesson.
Nov. 8 George went over the trap line, caught 1 skunk After dinner Mrs. Nichols and Dollie came down here. Sophia and Porter came up and took supper with us.
Nov. 9 I washed at home for myself and Mrs. Martin George went over the trap line caught 1 small coon. At night Lee Bradshaw came over and wanted us to go over to his place and pack his Baldwin Apples.
Nov. 10 George could not go but Maggie, Nora , Ruby, Floy, and myself went over. Lee came after us. George stayed at home and looked after his traps. It rained this afternoon.
Nov 11 It rained all night last night. It still raining this morning It raised the creek so George had to take up the traps. He came over to Bradshaws this fore noon to see how we were getting along. We got through at 5 o clock in the evening and Lee brought us all home. And Oh how the sticky did roll.
Nov 12 It rained all night Amy Brown came over this morning and wanted me to wash It was still raining but I went and washed for Amy.
Nov 13 I worked at home all day. Opal stayed all night here last night
Nov 14 Maggie and I ironed finished her dress and done the mending George went up to Brownsborough to see Mr. Ralph Tucker. It rained most of the day to day.
Nov. 15 Sunday it snowed last night and this morning it is raining again After dinner George went out on the hill to set some traps for skunk. Maggie and I went up to John Daleys. John and George got after some deer, but did not get them.
Nov. 16 I washed at home for myself only. George went to Medford with Mr. Jonas after our Ram and pipe. Mrs. Martin was here to see if I would wash for her next week. Lulu Martin came to borrow a loaf of bread. After dinner I went over to Mrs. Coys awhile. George got home at 6:30 Mr. Jonas kept the load down there all night.
Nov. 17 Mr. Jonas brought the load up this morning it was just the pipe. George went over the trap line had a rabbit After dinner I went up to John Daley settled up with him for George and my work George put out 8 more traps.
Nov. 18 I worked at home all day. George went over the trap line got 2 mink and 1 little skunk, never got home untill 5 P.M. Jeff Conover stayed all night here last night.
Nov. 19 George went over the trap line got 2 skunk I worked at home. Sophia came up after dinner to line one of her waists. George got home at 4 P.M. fixed a shed over the pipe to the ram.
Nov. 20 I worked at home cut me out a waist. Sophia came up after dinner to help me George got in at 5 had cought 2 skunk. At night I got an invitation to a rag tacking at Mrs. Grovers.
Nov. 21 George went over the trap line got 2 mink I went to Mrs. Grovers Maggie stayed at home. At night Sophy and Porter came up and spent the evening. It rained all night last night and all day to day.
Nov. 22 It is still raining rained all night George went over the line but got nothing. the creek is raising so fast that the traps are all under water. Sophia and Porter came up again this evening.
Nov. 23 I washed at home for myself and Mrs. Martin. $.75 George went over the trap line got 1 skunk. Sophia came up after dinner and helped me finish my washing At night George Maggie and I spent the evening at Mrs. Thomas'es.
Nov. 24 George went over the trap line got nothing. Sophia came up in the fore noon brought me a mess of fish. After dinner I went over to Mrs. Moors to see about a circular shawl. In the evening we went and spent the evening at Mrs. Moors.
Nov. 25, 1903 George went over the trap line got 1 skink, 1 mink I sewed on my waist. After dinner I went to Mrs. Peacheys, then Sophy came by and came home with me, and then Porter came and they stayed for supper. we cut a waist for Sophia.
Nov. 26 George went over the line got nothing. I sewed at home. At night Maggie and I went down and helped Mrs. Howlet wait on the supper table George went to the hall.
Nov. 27 George went over the trap line got 1 skunk I worked at home. Maggie could not got to school on account of her eyes, they are weak. Sophia came up in the evening brought me a liver from Mrs. Coy. Nora and Opal came by to see if I was going to the candy pull.
Nov. 28 Maggie and I sewed at home made her a blue percale waist George went over the line caught 1 mink 2 skunks but something took one skunk. In the evening Mr. Want Parker came here took supper with us. Many Conley called a few moments at 7 oclock the young folks all gathered here to got to Peacheys to a candy pull. We all went too. stayed untill 12 o clock then we all went home Nora and Opal stayed all night with Maggie
No. 29 George went over the trap line. Maggie went home with Nora at noon. I went over to Coys a little while to see Sophia and take her yarn to her. George got home at 3:30 1 mink he caught 2 little skunk and 1 squirrel but they are no account.
Nov. 30 George went over the line caught nothing. I washed at home. Sophia and Porter came up in the evening to fit Sophia any my waists. Clarence stayed all night. George shot and got 1 duck.
Dec. 1 George went over the line got nothing again. shot 1 duck got it. It rained part of the day. I sewed on Sophias red waist and helped George on another chicken house, a small one.
Dec. 2 George went over the trap line got 1 coon. John Daley came down to see if I would pack apples a few days. Dollie Nichols came home with Maggie for dinner. she forgot her dinner. then she came and stayed all night with Maggie Mother came out from Medford with Mr and Mrs. Howlet. In the evening Sophia and Porter came up to spend the evening and see Mother.
Dec. 3 George went over the trap line got nothing. I went up to John Daleys to pack apples. Mother kept house and got dinner for Maggie and Dollie
Dec. 4 I went back to the apples George went over th4e line got 1 mink Mother spent the at Mrs. Coys with Sophia Dollie came home with Maggie to stay all night and go to the drama with her George took them over to the hall. Elva Daley brought them home.
Dec. 5 Maggie and I both packed apples George went over the line got 1 duck. Mother spent the day at Mr. Fryer's. We all got home together at 5 o clock.
Dec 6 Sunday. George went over the trap line got 1 Otter Mrs. Nichols came here to get Mother. Dollie stayed all night with Maggie. Sophia and Porter came up and spent the evening.
Dec. 7 George went over the line got nothing I washed at home Maggie went and stayed all night with Dollie at Mrs. Heck's
Dec. 8 George went over the line got nothing. I ironed and finished Sophias waist and cut the lining for Maggies red. At night we went and spent the evening at Howlets.
Dec. 9 I fixed my brown silk waist worked on Maggies waist and went over to see Mrs. Coys new boy In the evening Mrs. Cameron and Mrs. Colvig of Jacksonville were here a while. George caught 1 mink
Dec. 10 George went over the line got nothing. I worked on Maggies waist and it was so cold that George got home at 2:30 and got me to help him run a survey on the creek for a water ditch.
Dec. 11 George went over the line got nothing. I finished Maggies waist and cut out her black satteen skirt. Mrs. Nichols brought Mother home this evening. George tried to sell his furs to Officer but they could not agree on the price. George went down to Hoeffts with Officer to see him dress the boys leg.
Dec. 12 George went over the ling got nothing. It rained most all day. Mother spent the day with Bell Daley and stayed all night I finished Maggies skirt. Maggie finished her shawl and ironed her skirts. Clarence spent the day here.
Dec. 13, 1903 Sunday George went over the line got nothing. Sophia came up spent the day. Mother came home at 11 from Bells.
Dec. 14 George went over the line got 2 ducks & 1 mink George shipped his furs to day to Tunstun. I washed at home for myself and Mrs. Mrtta Martin. Mother went over to see Mrs. Florey took dinner with her. Sophia came up and helped me and I made an underskirt for her. Sophia and Porter both took supper here and spent the evening
Dec. 15 Mother left this morning. she went to Central Point with Merrit B. I scribed and cleaned up the house. George went over the line got 1 duck, 1 mink Sophia an Porter came up spent the evening had a candy pull.
Dec. 16 George went over the trap line got nothing took up one trap. I sewed on Maggies waist It rained most of the day Is till worked on Maggies waist. George went over the trap line got nothing took up 3 more traps. I went and helped Mrs. Peachey make a wool bed.
Dec. 18 George went over the line got nothing. Sophia came up after dinner stayed untill after supper. I crochet a border on a handkerchief, for Maggie. Mr. Tom Nichols came here for me to help them butcher Monday.
Dec. 19 George went over the line got nothing. I finished Maggies waist Maggie ironed, took a music lesson, and done some sewing.
Dec. 20 Sunday. George went over the trap line got nothing. After dinner I went down to see Sophia Ruby came down and Maggie and her went to S. School, then Maggie went home with Ruby to stay all night. After supper, George and I went and spent the evening at Mr. John Watkins.
Dec. 21 George went over the line got nothing. I went up to T. E. Nichols to help them butcher hogs.
Dec. 22 I am still at Nichols George caught nothing Maggie goes to school.
Dec. 23 I am frying out lard to day at Nichols. George went over the line got nothing, came by Nichols as he came home.
Dec. 24 Mrs. Nichols brought me home this morning. George was gone over the line. Maggie was home for school had been dismissed. Maggie had done some washing, so I scrubed and then we done some baking In the evening Jeff Conover came here to stay all night Sophia and Porter came by and we all went over to the Christmas tree. George Maggie and I stayed for the dance.
Dec. 25 George and Jeff went over to Moonville to play for a dance they walked over started at 10:20 A.M. Sophia Porter & Clarence came u to eat Christmas dinner here. stayed for supper too. and spent the evening.
Dec. 26 Maggie and got up at 8 got our breakfast. then I done up the work. and Maggie made her a waist to wear New Years. At 11 o clock Manley Conley called in. At 12 o clock George and Jeff got home, and Conley left Jeff stayed to dinner and then went home. At night Agnes Howlet brought me a bucket of sausage.
Dec. 27 Sunday very foggy. George went over the line got nothing. Sophia came up and spent the afternoon Then we all went down home with her and spent the evening. Maggie stayed all night with Sophia.
Dec. 28 I washed at home for myself and Metta. Maggie came home at eleven and Sophia and Clarence came with her. at noon Porter came by stayed to dinner Dollie Nichols came to see Maggie and she ate dinner too. After dinner, Elva D. and Bertha Wyland came over to see me stayed about 1 hour. Sophia and I colored an over coat for Porter after I got through washing I cut out Maggies jacket and sewed on it all day. Sopia came up to work on Porters coat but it was not ready.
Dec. 30 George went over the line got nothing. It is still foggy. I sewed on Maggies Jacket got it nearly done. At night Sophia and I pressed Porters coat and tryed to put the lining in, but we could not do it by lamp light.
Dec. 31 George went over the line got nothing. Maggie finished her Jacket, and Sophias cushon top. After dinner Maggie and I went down to Sophias, came home, got supper. then Sophia, Porter, and all of us, went over to Hoeffts and spent the evening, took our music with us and it seemed to please them. to day is the first day that the sun has shone for a week.

Dec. 14, 1905 the baptists of Eagle point began to erect a church house they are building it on lot 4 & 5 in C G Daleys & Emerys addition to Eagle Point

Jan. 25 1909 Bertha stoped at Howlets for supper and stayed all night came up changed her dress went to Mrs. Wamsleys funeral came back to Howlets for dinner and supper came home at 9:30 stayed all night and
